By the year 2009/10 USB3.0 is set to release with a mind blowing speed of 4.8 gb/s that's like filling a pendrive of 4 gb in less than a minute.
Going to the technical details the USB3.0 will be backward compatible and adds five new lines which are parallel to the old one's in different plane and as expected the wire will be thicker compared to the previous versions.Uploads and downloads are on the seperate wlines.One pair for tranmitting and other pair for recieving data..Hence it allows both read and write at the same time.USB 3.0 is going to charge more devices also since it can carry more power 900 milliamps compared to 100 milliamps in previous versions.This => charging 4 devices at a time from a single hub
The beneficiaries of the usb 3.0 will be external hard disks,flash readers,video cameras and ofcourse me:P.USB has been criticized for high cpu usage.Intel should keep this problem as USB 3.0 will be going to add to the problem with its super speed capabilities unless taken care of.
